June CVS Deals
Oh my goodness, it is already that time! Tomorrow is June 1st, so that means new monthly deals at CVS. There are a couple freebies this month, but overall it’s not too great for me personally. However, you might find some great deals on things you need.
FREEBIES AFTER ECBs:
- $1.99 ECB CVS Pharmacy Sheer or Plastic Bandages 40 ct (Limit 2) Free after ECB
- 3.49 ECB wyb Listerine Smart Rinse 250 ml (Limit 2) Free after ECB
– Printable coupon: $1 off Listerinse Smart Rinse 250 ml. EXP 7/14/2008 - $6.99 ECB wyb Oral B CrossAction Manual Toothbrush 2 pk (Limit 2) Free after ECB
They’re also running a Dove deal again. I know I still have a ton of Dove coupons, plus there is a printable out there.
- $3.00 ECB wyb $10 of Dove Skin Care or Deodorant products (Limit 5)
– Printable coupon: $2 Dove Cream Oil Body Washes for 10oz & up. EXP 6/27/2008
Other than that not too much is striking my fancy. I’ll probably take advantage of these, though. Certainly the band-aids. With two boys I go through enough of them!

Lasik
I’m so thankful that my eyes aren’t too bad. I wear glasses, but mostly for driving or watching TV. I’m also supposed to wear them when I’m working at the computer for more than 20 minutes or so, but I don’t always remember. Oops! One of my high school friends had Lasik sugery several years ago, though, and never looked back. She had pretty bad eyesight and couldn’t believe the difference after the surgery. They’ve been doing it for quite a while now, and I haven’t really heard much negativity about it, so that’s good! Drew is not considering it, but he doesn’t mind his glasses. I’m not sure I’d go for it, just because I’m squeemish about my eyes. But you never know. Plenty of people are glad they did!

Cell Service
Speaking of accidents, the main reason I have a cell phone is for safety. I rarely use it, but I like to have it just in case. Of course, living in a rather rural area, there are stretches where I have either a very weak signal or no signal at all. Just my luck I would break down in one of these areas. So I was researching cell phone amplifiers and wondering if they work. In all reality I won’t be driving quite as much soon (God willing!!!), so it won’t be as much of an issue. But still, I think it’s interesting. Might end up being a good gift idea, even!

Almost Got Hit >:-(
So, along with today’s muggy weather, people are being incredibly stupid. Case in point: a girl driving an absurdly large SUV nearly ran a stop sign and hit me. Thankfully I was going pretty slow (it was on a very residential road), and I have quick reflexes. She just started driving out of a sidestreet, not even looking! She was too busy talking to her friend in the passenger seat. I am so sick of these spoiled brats who get everything handed to them and don’t seem to care about anyone but themselves. Seriously — if you’re going to drive, focus on the road!

Muggy
It is super muggy out this afternoon. Driving down to work I hit a couple of nasty downpours. Supposedly some bad storms are headed into the Northeast. We shall see. For now, even though it isn’t really hot, it is humid and sticky. A friend of mine originally from the midwest claims that she doesn’t find New York summers humid at all. If that’s the case I don’t think I’ll be moving to Indiana anytime soon, LOL! I bet if you live in someplace dry like Santa Fe dehumidifiers aren’t as much of a necessity for keeping your house comfortable. But then again, I’ve never been out that way so I could be way off base! At any rate, summer is well on the way judging by today’s weather!

So busy
Sorry I have not been around much lately. Things have just been busy at home. I am sure you all understand that! I am looking forward to June and school wrapping up. Though I’m not sure if it will be easier or more stressful with both kids at home, LOL. Ugh… there’s just so much that has been going on. I wish we could afford to look into Orlando vacations right now. I could really use some R&R, and I know my husband could too. Alas, no rest in sight. At least not for a while…

But wouldn’t you be cold?
In one of my magazines (maybe Country Home?) I keep seeing this ad for a bathtub with a door on it. It’s targeting older people who have a hard time lifting their legs. You just open the door and walk in, I guess. But that didn’t seem like it was right so I did a Google search for ”walk in tub“. I guess some of them have hydrotherapy systems that have warm air to keep you warm while you are waiting for the tub to fill or drain. I love my baths. I can’t imagine not being able to climb into my tub! So this is kind of a cool thing (though since I’m cold all the time I still wonder…).

Things That Make You Go Vrrooom
It was so totally cute. This morning, N. got out all of his Hot Wheels and Matchbox cars and this GeoTrax city thing that he got as a gift and had this whole traffic operation going. I couldn’t help but laugh when he created a few accidents. (Oh no! The Corvette with the chrome accessories just rear-ended Diego-themed minivan!). Luckily there was no damage to either car
If only it was that easy in real traffic, huh?

Whatever happened…
You know, I was just thinking about that gas explosion that happened near my place of work a little over a month ago. It was so freaky. There is a massage therapy place above the store and one of the girls who work there came running down after it happened, asking if I’d heard the noise. An entire house totally blew up! Supposedly, a gas line was hit accidentally, but since the house was near completion, and the market is awful, a lot of people wondered. Maybe I’ll go nose around and see if I can find anything recent on it. It’s probably totally on the up and up, but to me it looked a little suspicious.
